Film-lovers in Kerala are to get a surprise when they would be able to see two films with a single ticket, for the first time perhaps in Malayalam Cinema. This unprecedented thing will happen in Kerala this Thursday (August 9) with the release of the Shaji.N.Karun-directed AKG and the Avira Rebecca-directed Thakarachenda being released together at 16 centres all across the state.
AKG, directed by internationally acknowledged filmmaker Shaji.N.Karun, is a 70 minute docu-fiction throwing light on the life and times of A.K.Goplan, popularly known as AKG, the most reputed of communist leaders in Kerala, one of the pioneers of the communist movement in the state. P.Sreekumar dons the role of AKG in the film while the cast also includes Dr.M.P.Parameswaran, Archana etc.
Thakarachenda, directed by debutante Avira Rebecca, is an offbeat feature film with Sreenivasan in the lead. The film, which throws light on the plight of those in the lowest strata of the society, has Geethu Mohandas in the female lead role.
Both the films will be shown in the same theatres one after the other and those who go to see the films can see both with a single ticket.
