Nivedhyam is the new offering from the scenarist-director Lohithadas. Omar Sharif produces the film under the banner of Touchwood Cinema. Nivedhyam tells you the story of a young man named Mohanakrishnan. He is the son of a well-known writer and dramatist, a firebrand writer. Mohanakrishnan’s father passes away when he is just doing his schooling and thenceforth the burden of his family comes to rest upon his shoulders.
Mohanakrishnan finishes his schooling and then searches for a job. And in this context, with a recommendation letter given by poet-cum-lyricist Kaithapram, Mohanakrishnan reaches the house of Rama Varma Thampuran.
Rama Varma Thampuran had been the disciple of legendary musician Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar and also a great musician himself. He and his family had seen good days in the past and he even owned an estate, a factory etc in the past. But now things are not the same and he is not leading a wealthy life. He cannot afford to give Mohanakrishnan a job. But the young man decides not to return and stays on there. And from there his life is destined to take a turn. This forms the rest of the plot.
Vinu Mohan, the grandson of the gifted actor, the late Kottarakara Sreedaran Nair (who had immortalized the character of Chembankunju in Chemmeen and whose son is actor Saikumar and daughter is actress Shobha Mohan. Vinu is Shobha Mohan’s son, his father Mohanan being an actor on the stage) is playing the lead role. The presence of gifted actors like Bharath Gopi (as Rama Varma Thampuran) and Nedumudi Venu would be the highlights of the film.
Lohithadas is coming up with a film after a long gap and hence it is anticipated with excitement. We hope the movie will live up to the high expectations.
