Chocolate, which is director Shafi's forthcoming venture, after the blockbuster Maayavi, takes us to a Women's College, where there are about five thousand students. And it is in their midst that a young guy named Shyam lands up.
Shyam, who had been a troublemaker wherever he had studied earlier, is brought to the college by his mother Vanaja, who is a teacher there. She wants him to be there, before her very own eyes. In the Woman's College, there is a gang of three led by Anne Mathews, the daughter of a rich planter.
She and her gang, comprising of herself, Nandana and Susan George have been all set to accord a welcome to the new student, the lone male member among the students in the college. The story gradually spreads outside the campus and it is from here that things take off in the film.
Prithviraj plays the lead role in the film, donning the role of Shyam, while he is given company in the cast by Jayasurya too, who plays the role of Ranjith, a young guy who befriends Shyam in order to woo a girl in the college whom he loves.
The female lead role, that of Anne Mathews, is donned by Roma and giving her company are Samvritha Sunil and Remya Nambeeshan. Shaari makes a comeback donning the role of the college principal. A very interesting thing about the film is that it features choreography by Aravinder, who is an actor (of Nandanam fame) as well as a dancer-choreographer (he had done the choreography in Prajapathy).
The film, which has script by debutante duo Sachi and Sethu and which is a campus film with a difference, is slated to be a Ramzan (October) release.
