Atheetham, the offbeat venture by debutante director Devan Nair, is scheduled to be released on 21st September, and that too in a single theatre. The film will be released in the Sree Theatre in Thrissur initially, following which it would also be released consequently at other centres.

Devan Nair, who was contacted on phone, stated: “We have taken the theatre on rent since we want people to see the film. After showing it first at Thrissur, we will take it to other centres as well".

Atheetham, produced under the banner of Sonnet Cinema, is a film with much of spiritual quotient in it and has in the cast Rahul Eeswar, Dathathreya, Ramya Nambeeshan, Manikantan, Urmila Unni, Sreeraman etc. The film is scripted by Shatrughnan (with story penned by the director himself) and features cinematography by M.J.Radhakrishnan and music by Biji Bal. Atheetham was shot in Kerala and Varanasi.

The offbeat film has the honour of being selected for the South Asian film Festival New York.
